You'll probably have noticed by now that I'm a die-hard fan of Barbara Morgenstern, having boarded somewhere around 1998. In the 20+ years since then, I've witnessed her changing her writing, production, and performance style gradually with every new album, reinventing herself continuously. With her latest release so far, titled "Unschuld und Verwüstung" ("Innocence and Desolation"), Barbara Morgenstern reaches far beyond the confines of the electronica genre she's part of, undoubtedly stepping into art rock territory now, in a way that's suited to astonish even long-term fans.
